Here at Hawkins Springs Farm, when we're not tending the garden, we like to enjoy our dark skies and do a bit of astrophotography. We have a Skyshed POD observatory dome that houses our 10" Meade LX200 GPS Schmidt-Cassagrain telescope and CCD equipment. We use the LX200 for guiding and have an Orion ED-80 refractor for imaging. Our CCD cameras are Meade DSI-ll-color for guiding and DSI-ll-mono for imaging. We use a variety of filters on the mono camera that allow us to take exposures through different filters and then combine them to make a final color photograph. Below is a sampling of some of our celestial photos. Click on any of the images to load the slide show. To close the slide show just click on the large image. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
